Round 6 really is the Jewell in the Crown on the British Talent Cup calendar, two support races at the British round of the MotoGP World Championship at Silverstone over the weekend of 6th – 7th August.

“What can I say? It’s the big one isn’t it? MotoGP, it’s where we all want to be, that’s the whole point of this.  It is the pinnacle of our sport. To get to race there and be amongst my heroes, well it doesn’t get any better than that, I was feeling confident after Brands and I really wanted to show my best, the world was watching”.

Friday practice got off exactly as I wanted “We had a good Friday, I managed to get up to speed quickly and finished the day p7 in both sessions, resulting in p7 overall”.

Saturday qualifying went even better “I had an amazing qualifying session, I managed to put a fast lap in at the start of the session putting me p1 for most of qualifying, but unfortunately I slipped to 4th in the dying stages, still a great qualifying and I still can’t quite believe I used the word unfortunately before saying I qualified in 4th!”

Race 1 on Saturday I continued with the good form “I had a good start and found myself in the main group at the front battling for 3rd unfortunately there was some contact with another rider causing some pain in my wrist but I managed to push through and made it back to 6th from the back of the group, despite the pain and discomfort I was happy with that and knew I had been in the right place”.

Race 2 on Sunday was another strong showing from me, “I had an ok start and I tried to latch on to the break away group. I couldn’t quite keep with them and got dragged back into a battle slower than the pace I knew I had. That said, I finished p7 to wrap up my best weekend yet”.

None of this would be possible without my sponsors and my team providing the support and a great bike I need to be successful.
