Round 2 at Oulton Park came over the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend. “I felt confident going into Oulton, it’s a circuit that suits my riding style and I can use my size to my advantage”.

In free practice on Friday I quickly found my rhythm, placing p7 in FP1 and p11 in FP2, managing to shave 1.3s off my previous fastest lap from last year.

Qualifying on Saturday saw me place myself 7th on the grid before a red flag called time on the session.

Race 1 came on Sunday afternoon, “I made a good start and got myself firmly into the front group but in the first few laps I ran wide and dropped back leaving me out of the leading group but not out of the fight.  I finished 6 seconds from the lead group and came home in 6th position, my best placing yet so I was really happy with that”.

Race 2, on Monday afternoon was another close encounter at the front of the field, “I got off to another good start with the front pack, I clung onto the lead group for the first 5 laps before dropping back but not losing any positions, coming home in a lonely 10th position”.

Another solid weekend showing that have the pace and ability to run at the front, 2 more point scoring rides leaving me 11th out of 36 riders in the championship with 23 points, 9 points from my total at the end of last season.

I am again grateful to those that make racing possible, all my sponsors and my team for a great bike, enabling me to score points in all races at both rounds.

“I am determined to be even stronger for round 3 at Donington Park, a circuit I love”.
